Canesis appoints Andrew Macpherson as CEO

New Zealand based Research Organisation Canesis Network Limited announced that Andrew MacPherson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Canesis is an internationally focused world class research and development company, uniquely specialising in natural fibres, textiles, and keratin biopolymers and is the largest private, independent research and development company in New Zealand. Canesis is owned 75% by Wool Equities Limited, a publicly listed innovation company, and 25% by Wool Research, a New Zealand wool industry incorporated society.

Mr MacPherson's experience in previous roles has combined both science and technology with the successful commercialisation of products and services.

“We believe these skills are ideal for Canesis as a world leading provider of research and development and technical services, providing value, innovation and technical solutions to customers.” Mr Bentley said.

Mr MacPherson joins Canesis Network from AgVax Developments in which he held the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Bentley said Mr MacPherson was appointed after a thorough selection process that looked both inside and outside New Zealand and he is delighted with the appointment.

Mr MacPherson's qualifications include a Master of Business Administration with Distinction and Bachelor of Veterinary Science, both from Massey University.

His appointment as Chief Executive Officer takes effect on 23 May 2005.
