The European subsidiary of Japanese computerised knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki is exhibiting at ‘Meet the Manufacturer’ 2015 exhibition in London, UK this June.

“On display will be Shima Seiki’s SWG061N2 compact Wholegarment knitting machine that features the company's original SlideNeedle technology,” Shima Seiki informed in a press release.
The technology is capable of flexible production in knitted items like gloves, socks and other fashion accessories and specific applications such as sports, medical and industrial materials, all in 3D without seams.
Demonstrations will also be performed on the SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system that is at the core of the company’s ‘Total Fashion System’ concept.
The APEX3 integrates knit production into one smooth and efficient workflow from yarn development, product planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion.
According to Shima Seiki, especially effective is APEX3’s capability to improve on the planning process with virtual sampling.
“Photo-realistic simulation capability minimises the need for sample-making, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process,” it added.
Meet the Manufacturer is a trade show and sourcing event showcasing British manufacturing of clothing, textiles and leather goods.
It features clothing manufacturers, textile mills, makers of leather goods and suppliers to the UK apparel and textile industries. (AR)
