In the challenging world market for home and household textiles, it is essential that new developments be taken up and promoted at an early stage.
In line with this, the forthcoming Heimtextil from 10 to 13 January will mark the start of the business year, 2007, under the motto 'Room follows Fantasy'.
To this end, the world's biggest trade fair for home and commercially-used textiles will continue to build uncompromisingly on its strengths. Thus, the contract business, which has already become an established part of the Heimtextil with a large number of manufacturers, will be given a significantly more pronounced image and the trend-setting function boosted.
Moreover, a new high-grade section called 'Asian Vision' is being created to take account of the growing quality of Asian textiles.
The new trilogy of Asian Feeling, Asian Selection and Asian Vision stands for a continuous growth in quality – from Asian joint stands, via individual exhibitors with good quality products, to top suppliers from the Far East.
As in the case of Dreamland, which focuses on Europe, a jury will be assembled to select the participants for Asian Vision using similarly strict criteria. Thus, when it comes to quality, the Heimtextil will build on a two-pillar approach in the future: Europe and Asia. Two equivalent areas will be created for design-oriented carpets and floor coverings.
The textile market is subject to rapid changes that are caused to no small extent by changes in the demographic structure and that have a direct impact on consumption and leisure behaviour.
