Big Bazaar, the country's leading discount store from the Pantaloon Group has tied up with the Mumbai Traffic Police in their drive to promote the use of helmets.
Big Bazaar, India's biggest value retailer has always been on the forefront to support social causes. Big Bazaar had been actively involved in the distribution of food packets during the floods. This is one more step for Big Bazaar to express its commitment to society.
Big Bazaar will be launching a public message campaign to support this cause. The campaign will be launched early next week and will consist of banners, signages, social messages and press advertisements.
“The rise in the use of two wheelers has also given rise to the number of accidents on the roads. We feel very strongly about this cause and we consider it our social responsibility to promote the usage of helmets” said Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal, President Marketing.
“Ever increasing number of fatalities in road accidents due to head injuries especially amongst the 2 wheeler riders/pillons, shows the vital need to use helmets while riding on the 2 wheelers. This is mandatory under Motor Vehicle Act. An awareness campaign to promote the use of helmet is need of time and I am glad that Big bazaar has willingly joined Traffic Police in this drive" said
Mr. Satish C. Mathur, Mumbai Traffic Police Commissioner.
The campaign is expected to increase the usage of helmets and increase safety standards connected to two wheelers. ISI marked helmets will be available at all Big Bazaar outlets from Rs.349/- onwards.
