AgResearch mulls Canesis as acquisition option

AgResearch is currently seeking information from the shareholders of Canesis Network Ltd in order that it can assess its options with regard to acquiring the business of Canesis.
Canesis is an R&D company focused on textiles, wool and biopolymers, and is owned by Wool Equities Ltd and the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand Inc.
AgResearch is a Crown Research Institute with its R&D focused on the pastoral sector. Therefore it sees complementarity between its business and that of Canesis. Discussions between the parties are currently at an early stage.
AgResearch mission is to apply the depth of experience and expertise it has in every aspect of pastoral farming and also in biotechnology to continue to build substantial competitive advantage throughout the value chain.
Canesis to offer its research and development capabilities to a variety of scientific fields, including textile science, carpet science and biological science.
