Englotechs Holdings Bhd is investing RM30 million in Padang Meha Industrial Estate to add seven production lines to a new range of supported gloves at its plant in Kulim.
The company plans to expand manufacturing of supported gloves made from non-toxic polymer, cut-resistant and hobby gloves.
Water-based polyurethane chemicals are used in making non-toxic polymer gloves that find application in electronics and automotive industries.
Cut-resistant variety is made from a special type of yarn called dyneema used in slaughterhouses and glass industries.
For those interested in gardening, Englotechs has ploymer based gloves offering better grip than conventional leather hobby types.
The company foresees increase in production of hobby gloves as they spawn a higher profit margin.
On the financial performance front, the company earned RM8 million in profits on a turnover of RM97.5 million, in 2005.
