Sympatex technology launches newly-patented membrane system

Sympatex Technologies, Wuppertal, have introduced a newly-patented membrane system with a new manufacturing process for the production of glove inserts.

By investment in research and development a new membrane has been developed, which enables two membrane layers to be bonded and sealed watertight at a suitable temperature and in the desired insert shape and size without the use of an adhesive coupling agent.

The aim of the development was also to improve the performance of the inserts. The thickness of the inserts was reduced from 30µ to 15µ. Breathability was increased significantly from Ret 3 to Ret 1,7.

This combination of reduced thickness and better breathability exists worldwide only in the Sympatex glove insert. The Sympatex-inserts can be worked into every glove between the outer fabric and lining and ensure a higher breathability, wind and waterproofing performance of the glove.

A further benefit of the Sympatex-membrane is that it is environmentally friendly. It is 100 per cent Polyester and contains no halogens. There are no solvents used in the manufacturing process. At the end of the garment's life the membrane can be disposed of, without any harm to the environment. It could even also be introduced into a recycling system without any problems- All Sympatex-membrane systems bear the distinction of the “Öko-Tex 100 “ certificate.
