Textile maker Unify to be conferred N C Sustainability award

Greensboro textile company Unify Inc has been chosen by Sustainable North Carolina from the list of 9 finalists for fifth annual N C Sustainability Awards.
These awards are conferred with the purpose of acknowledging businesses and nonprofit organizations which group high economic profit with environmental stewardship and social duties. But the nominated Triad company has been constantly incurring losses.
Yarn manufacturer Unifi is selected as a nominee in the Innovative Enterprises category. It has been considered for developing yarns produced from recycled material, which are marketed under Repreve brand.
Company shareholders have not obtained good returns for many years. Unifi has been in a bad state for last five years, despite losses being reduced in recent quarters.
