However, despite such an overwhelming outcome, it is now up to the AWI board to make a recommendation to the Federal Government, and for the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Hon Peter McGauran, to have the final say as to how this might go forward.
“It is now up to Minister McGauran to decide how to use these results, but I would say that the industry has sent a very clear message to both AWI and the Minister that it believes it is overdue to level the playing field.”
