Internationally family specialty retail brands products provider The Gymboree Corporation announced it does not expect that the recent embargo of select apparel products manufactured in China will have a material impact on its business.
On July 14, 2005, the Company received a series of inquiries about the effect of the recent embargo. The Company has been monitoring the situation for a number of months and has strategies in place to limit its exposure.
The Company believes that only a small number of purchase orders will be impacted by the recent and potential embargoes. The Company also stated that due to the small value of the purchase orders involved, the embargoes are not expected to have a material impact on net income for the remainder of fiscal 2005.
