KSIC bags GI for Mysore Silk

Karnataka silk is famous world wide for its Mysore Silk which is a heritage product.
The Government has decided to nationalise Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) in next six months. It has now received a patent for marketing of the famous Mysore silk sari.
KSIC has received proprietorship of the Geographical Indication for Mysore Silk earlier this year and became one of the first companies in India to get a GI.
The company plans to introduce methods like digital printing technology and exhibitions to promote and market the Mysore silk sari among the older as well as younger generation.
