Sangam bags new order from Poland & UK

Sangam (India), one of the largest polyester-viscose dyed yarn manufacturer in India announced that the company's export sales has crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark as on 31st December, 2006. Further, the company has announced that it has bagged new export orders worth Rs. 12 crore from Poland & UK, thereby taking the total export order-book position to Rs. 50 crore.

These orders are to be executed in the next three- four months. The company has registered a 143 per cent in exports sales at Rs. 117 crore for the first nine months ended December 31, 2006 compared to Rs. 48 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Elaborating on company's export strategy, Mr R P Soni, Chairman, Sangam (India) said, “We are witnessing a swift acceptance of our polyester-viscose dyed yarns & fabrics worldwide. As a part of its export strategy, the company has explored new market and enhanced its customer base in more then 30 countries.”

Mr Soni also added, “During the current financial year we are targeting exports sales in the region of Rs. 150-160 crore. Going forward, we plan to enhance our presence in European & US markets in line with our growth strategies.”

During this period, exports of fabrics grew from Rs. 23.94 crore to Rs. 43.70 crore. While the export sales of yarn grew to Rs. 73.80 crore as on December 31, 2006 compared to Rs. 24.03 crore in the corresponding period last year.
