tesa sales could be increased as well. At current exchange rates sales reached € 793 million (previous year: € 735 million), a growth of 7.9% compared to 2005. Adjusted for currency translation effects sales grew by 8.2%. tesa achieved an EBIT of about € 70 million (previous year: € 63 million). The corresponding EBIT margin could be raised to 9.0%.
Result including special factors:
Expenses for the realignment of the Consumer Supply Chain amounted to approximately € 120 million in 2006 (before taxes). Operating result including these expenses reached about € 470 million.
The expenses burdened the profit after tax with € 80 million. The income from the sale of BSN medical amounted to € 371 million before tax (€ 361 million after tax). The profit after tax including special factors reached € 665 million. Return on sales after tax amounted to 13.0% accordingly.
