Vinatex plans to raise status of country in top ten

After Vietnam is ranked 16th out of 153 textile and apparel exporting countries in the world, Vietnam textile and apparel group (Vinatex) is planning to take measures to include country in top ten, sources informed.
In 2006, Vinatex accounted for US $1.7 billion of total textile and apparel export turnover of $5.8 billion.
In textile and apparel materials imports, 52 percent is fabrics, 34 percent is raw material, ten percent fibre and remaining four percent is raw cotton.
To achieve target, Vinatex has already taken various measures like increase in investment, increasing ratio of domestic sales and materials and value addition in goods.
Vinatex also shifted focus from US to other countries like Eu, Japan etc, for exports of the goods.
