RIL considers moving Fresh into malls

Mayawati's Government has decided to ban standalone food and grocery stores of big players and thus Reliance is considering moving its Fresh outlets into malls.
Industry source was uncertain regarding the reasons behind Government's decision. He told Fibre2fashion, “We do not believe the reason to be genuine at all. We are unable to understand Government's motive or hidden agenda behind this move.”
Expert said, “Government has appointed a committee for this issue. Company is still waiting for the final decision and then they will decide whether to shift Reliane Fresh food & grocery stores to malls or not.”
Reportedly, Government is surveying the impact of giant grocery stores on nearby smaller retailers.
