Eurotex takes 10 Trutzschler cards for superfine yarns

Ten Trützschler DK 800 carding machines form part of a plant modernisation programme by Indian spinning specialist renown for its quality fine and superfine 100% cotton yarns.
Indian spinning specialist Eurotex, renown for its high quality fine and superfine 100% cottonyarns, has completed the commissioning of ten Trützschler DK 800 card machines manufactured by Indian subsidiary company Trumac and ordered through the local selling agent ATE, as part of a plant modernisation programme.
Located in the textiles district of Kolhapur, Eurotex is regarded as one of the region's largest spinners, producing around 20 t/day of Ne30 – 100 count spin yarns 24/7.
The company started commercial production in 1989 with 25,000 spindles. Expansion with the opening of a second facility producing Ne30 count and with 14,800 spindles took place in 1995, together with the installation of four Trützschler DK 760 cards in the first production unit.
Continued increased production of medium, fine and superfine yarns saw delivery of additional spindles to Unit 1 to give a combined total of 42,000 spindles.
According to Eurotex's General Manager (Technical Services), Dr G. Janakiram, the company recognised the need to modernise its production facilities if it was to maintain a policy of quality and full capacity.
Part of this programme culminated in the installation of ten DK800's ordered, said Dr. Janakiram, “As a result of our experience with the older DK760's and feedback from other companies regarding performance and cost effectiveness.”
Features of the DK 800 include a precision flats setting system (PFS) providing improved quality of card slivers with six different position settings between the main cylinder and the revolving flats.
An additional stationary flats twin top system (TTS) further improves the opening of the fibres tufts and enhances improved carding action.
