To help architects and building designers advance their understanding of the importance of weather resistance, Typar introduces a new professional development course for the design community titled — Weather Resistant Barriers in Exterior Vertical Wall Construction.
The program reviews weather resistive barriers and assists participants in discerning the importance of housewrap in building design, weather protection and sustainability.
The goal is to help create an understanding of the issues addressed by weather resistive barriers, such as air and moisture protection, indoor air quality and moisture vapor transmission. The course also gives users information on how to compare various barriers based on specific performance criteria.
“Weather resistant barriers continue to be one of the best investments in home building, and we believe, with continued exposure to the functions and benefits of housewrap, that designers and specifiers will develop greater acceptance and use,” says Bob Dahl, marketing director of Typar Construction Products.
Typar is an approved provider for educational credits and the course is worth one learning unit from the AIA continuing education group and is currently being offered across the country by Typar sales reps and agents.
“This course will help keep the industry abreast of the latest trends and innovations in building envelope protection with non-brand specific information such as product history, installation and usage,” adds Dahl.
