S Kumars Nationwide announces 3-year expansion plans

S.Kumars Nationwide Ltd has approved the proposal to increase FII investment limit from 24 to 49 percent, at its board meeting held on September 26, 2005, subject shareholders approval.
To consolidate its market share, S Kumars plans to expand production capacity, especially in weaving and finishing, through a Rs 400 crore investment over the next three years. Next couple of years will see the company launch Balmoral, an international ready to wear brand.
The company aims to enlarge its share in high margin businesses like home textiles and garments by focusing on export market - primarily Middle East and ready-wear garments for domestic and markets abroad.
Successful run of Reid & Taylor brand alongwith its other new brands, the company hopes increase the number of Reid & Taylor stores from 26 to 200. Its home textiles brand - Carmichael House will debut in the end of 2005.
S Kumars has charted growth plans to more than double its revenues from about Rs 800 crore at present, to Rs 1,800 crore, within the next five years.
