In 2008, Rieter sold a new spunlace line to Sanitars, the well-known Italian nonwovens producer which already operates 2 spunlace lines from Rieter. This latest line was successfully started up.
Sanitars entered the cosmetics field more than 30 years ago with an innovative installation for producing cotton make-up balls. Sanitars confirmed its leading position as a specialist manufacturer of high-quality cotton products. The revolution came in 1992, when a first Perfojet unit was purchased for the production of cotton discs for use as make-up pads.
Since the first spunlace machine installed by Rieter, Sanitars has always developed its market by extending its own product range. Indeed, in 1995 Sanitars decided to invest in a second spunlace line, the JETlace 2000, in order to increase its spunlace capacity. Confidence in Rieter Perfojet was strengthened, and the new development from Rieter in the nonwovens field and for the cotton industry encouraged Sanitars to invest in the new spunlace line last year.
This JETlace machine is designed for the production of state-of-the-art cotton fabrics for end uses as wipes or cotton pads. This new line has been in operation for 2 months and Sanitars can supply a full range of nonwoven products from cotton fibers.
Sanitars was born in 1971 and began its activity producing sanitary cotton-wool, cord cotton for ear-cleaners, discs, and cotton flock.
