Icebreaker Realfleece will be an instant classic!

Icebreaker is unveiling Realfleece – a premium natural alternative to a synthetic fleece for men and women. Unlike synthetics, Icebreaker Realfleece is stylish and sophisticated and can be worn on the mountain as well as on the town.

Made from the world's best merino, grown by merino sheep in New Zealand's Southern Alps, it's exceptionally warm, soft and cozy. Merino doesn't itch, is breathable, doesn't hold odour and is naturally warm.

Plus, through Icebreaker's Baacode traceability programme, consumers can trace the fibre that's in every Icebreaker Realfleece back to the sheep station (farm) that grew it. Every Icebreaker garment has a unique Baacode sewn inside, which can be entered online, taking consumers to meet the growers and see inside the factories where the merino was cleaned, spun and sewn.

Unlike synthetic fleece, Icebreaker Realfleece is also sustainable – when the garment is obsolete it can be composted into the soil, unlike synthetics.

Launched in 1994, Icebreaker was the first company in the world to develop a merino fibre layering system for the outdoors. It was also the first outdoor apparel company in the world to source merino directly from growers, a system it began in 1997. There are now 20-25 distinct pure merino fabrics in the Icebreaker system, covering underwear, mid layer, and outerwear.
