Rieter considers setting ring spinning machinery facility in India

Praising Government's Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), he pointed out that demand for textile machinery had gone up however, he opined that capital goods investment in the textile industry will continue even after the expiry of the TUFS likely by 2007. Indian textile companies showed promise and were quality conscious and active at identifying new markets.
Turing to competition from China on the textile machinery manufacturers front, he said they were agressive at pushing the spinning machines in the country in recent times. But dedicated Swiss machinery buyers would be hard put to buying Chinese machinery, he concluded.
