According to the statistical information from Macao, export value touched 13.21 billion yuan, down 6.5 percent in the first eight months of this year, compared to the same period last year. During this period, import value of the region reached 27.92 billion yuan, which was 17.6 percent up.
The US and EU remained the main exporting regions for Macao with earnings represented 58 percent of the total export value. The country exported products like textile, garments, shoes and equipments.
Macao imported mainly from Asian countries like China and Hong Kong. From January to August this year, total value of products imported from these places accounted for 52.4 percent of the overall import value.
