Vietnamese garment exports up 98%, footwear grows 11%

Substantial growth in export of garments, textiles and footwear from Vietnam to Russia has been recorded this year.
Export of textiles and garment went up 98 percent, while footwear recorded 11.5 percent rise.
Speaking to media, Alexander Sitnikov, Russian Trade Representative in Vietnam said these exports reached 151.6 million, showing 32.7 percent year-on-year growth, during the first eight months, this year.
Meanwhile, total trade between Russia and Vietnam this year grossed $704.2 million during the first eight months, up 30 percent year-on-year basis.
Also, Russian exports to Vietnam crossed $553 million mark in the same period.
Both the countries were seeking wider trade cooperation, Sitnikov informed.
