Erenhot Port, the biggest land port on the China-Mongolia border, has handled over 12 million tons of import and export cargo throughput since 2013, as per data released by customs authorities in Hohhot, the capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The port facilitated more than 13,000 trips of China-Europe freight trains within the period, transporting 1.35 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) and amassing a total commodity value approaching $30 billion.

Serving as a vital conduit for transcontinental trade, the port operates 69 freight train routes, connecting China with upwards of 60 regions across over 10 nations, including key European markets such as Germany and Poland. The diverse cargo, spanning roughly 1,000 categories, encompasses a wide range of goods including footwear and apparel.
