"Our business plan going forward has several new destinations identified, however these are on hold at present pending a decision on the Management of the airline beyond 2008 and the current security situation in the country." Adds Hill and commenting on their push for flight operations on the Dubai – India route, he noted that while flying up to four flights per day with their code share partner Emirates between Colombo and Dubai, the airline is offering onward connections to 10 Indian destinations and 90 flights per week.
However, they have no plans at present to operate non-stop flights between Dubai and India, he noted.
In the meantime, the government and Emirates Airlines are expected to hold talks scheduled for August this year on the extension of the contract between SriLankan Airlines and Emirates, he said.
