As a flagship show, CeMAT functions as an international marketplace for intralogistics and technical logistics. This coming May, CeMAT will present an innovative event that will serve as a sociopolitical, thematically focused backdrop: the first-ever FUTURE OF LOGISTICS - International CeMAT Conference taking place on the eve of the show, 26 May 2008.
In cooperation with the Supply Management Institute (SMI) at the European Business School in Wiesbaden, Germany, the CeMAT organizers have developed a new event that examines future logistics trends in an overall economic, social and technological context through to the year 2025.
The backbone of the conference is provided by a hitherto unique scientific survey, the Delphi Study, produced jointly by SMI and the FutureManagementGroup AG.
300 top executives, scientists and government representatives from around the world will define a vision for tomorrow's world, including the role of logistics, at the Convention Center on the exhibition grounds.
"What contribution will logistics be required to make to general developments over the next 20 years and what impact will this have on my own field of action?" This is the conference mission, which will be examined in interactive 2+1 keynote talks and discussions at so-called Coffee Worlds.
The core topics of sustainability, future feasibility and the potential role of logistics will be illuminated from the standpoint of information, resources, access and people.
