Analysts predict that the trade surplus in August is most likely to touch US $24.97 billion, and total trade surplus for January-August period will hit $161.76 billion.

Reportedly, China's trade surplus in August was recorded as the second peak in past months, at $24.97 billion, $24.36 billion over that in July.

China will officially release trade surplus data this week.

According to earlier report of Chinese Customs, China's July trade surplus rose 67 percent, to $24.357 billion. In January to July, trade surplus recorded year-on-year surge of 81 percent, to $136.8 billion, which is nearly 77 percent of the entire 2006 trade surplus.

However, many experts also point out that if China's trade surplus keeps growing firmly it would inevitably increase the pressure on RMB appreciation. Particularly, the US Government will continue to put pressure on China.
