Fruit of the Loom to close Jerzees de Choloma facility

Fruit of the Loom Inc announced that it will permanently close within the next few months its Jerzees de Choloma facility located in Choloma, Honduras. The approximate 800 employees at the plant were notified of the closure.

According to Company officials, the decision to close the facility resulted from a shift in product demand and the ongoing consolidation of Fruit of the Loom and Russell Corporation manufacturing following the acquisition of Russell Corp. by Fruit of the Loom, Inc. in 2006.

The Company will work with the employees to ensure they receive all legally required benefits and to identify potential job opportunities at other Company facilities.
