Textile & fashion industry grows to $11.4bn

A recent study by wellknown consultancy firm ICON has placed the Middle East region's fashion and textile industry market at US $11.4 billion.
This revealed that Dubai is fast emerging as a key player having strong logistics, strategic location and tax free zones.
The region's fashion and textiles presence have gained stature and global acceptance as premier international brands make leeway in the local markets.
Being a favorite tourist destination, Dubai has attracted business like none other city in th region, and has huge potential for growth in sectors besides textiles and fashion, that is gems & jewellery, cosmetics, leather and footwear and related accessories etc.
Dubai is undoubtedly the commercial capital of the Arab region. It hosts some of the most exclusive fairs at the most facinating building landmarks in the world.
Now, Dubai is fast turning out to be a major hub not only for exports but re-exports, also.
