Tracking the labour situation of textile-garments companies closely, many foreign customers have not placed orders and those who have placed them have requested manufacturers to guarantee workforce stability, said an industry insider.
Manufacturers are facing severe financial crisis due to rising demands of clients for stability in prices, said Hoan. He added that American partners wanted assurance of sufficient human capitals to fulfil their orders. Now they rate labour problems in line with textile-garment quotas.
American importers are not satisfied with labour crisis in Vietnamese garment companies, said Herb Cochran, Executive manager of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham). Just one or two untrained workers can spoil quality of garment and upset regular turnover that downgrades quality.
