In the Netherlands, inflation rates showed a slight decrease in April, as per the flash estimate released by Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The consumer price index (CPI) recorded an inflation rate of 2.7 per cent, a decline from 3.1 per cent in March.

The CBS flash estimate, which is based on incomplete source data, reflects this moderate easing in consumer price increases. The drop suggests a potential relief for Dutch consumers, although the data is preliminary and subject to revisions.

In addition to the CPI, CBS also calculates inflation based on the European Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP). The HICP figures align closely with the CPI, marking inflation at 2.6 per cent for April. This also shows a reduction from the 3.1 per cent recorded in March.
