China offers huge opportunities to Pakistan to enhance its trade in textile industry under Early Harvest Programme (EHP) that launched by Pakistan this month.
Though Pakistan exports raw material, mainly cotton yarn to China, textile includes more than 70 percent of Pakistan's total exports.
Under the EHP, Pakistani traders can convert their export products to China into value-added goods.
China offers 27 percent reduction in tariff on imports of cotton fabrics, manmade fabric, home textile and towels to support Pakistani traders under the free trade agreement (FTA), said Ma Yi, a senior member of China's Textile Association.
He also added that now Pakistani manufacturers should try to capture Chinese market by introducing high-quality products.
At the same time, Ma Yi stresses the need of a coordinated marketing by participating in exhibitions organized in Chinese major cities.
