Willem Botes South African Consul General in Dubai reported that the countries exports to the UAE has risen to Dh1.5bn previous year.
Willem informed that trade with the UAE climb an annual rate of 36 percent for the duration of past four years, meanwhile the South Africa's global trade has been increasing at an annual average of 17 per cent.
South Africa's mainly exports agricultural products, defense equipment, steel and metal products, precious stones, chemical products, machinery, timber, electronics, household items, textiles, cosmetics, briquettes and tobacco to the UAE in 2004.
"The past decade has seen a dramatic strengthening of relations between South Africa and the AGCC countries in general and between South Africa and the UAE in particular. Yet, bilateral trade is still below its potential and investment opportunities in both South Africa and the AGCC region have not been exploited satisfactorily” opines Dikgang Moopeloa, Ambassador, South African Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
