Two German business groups said that EU curbs on Chinese textile and textile products are pulling down the German fashion trade.

The German Textile Retailing Federation and the German Fashion Manufactures' Association said that the buyer would not get what they want as quotas were imposed on the textile products from China to the EU.

The groups informed that Germany has fully geared itself awaiting Chinese products gaining full access of the EU market, and the firms (German) had already made import agreements, hoping to gain from post quota era.

Currently, the German clothing industry has faced with loss in sales and businesses worth 100 million euros (120 million US dollars), while shoppers face scarcity of goods and pay higher prices to purchasing them.

Meanwhile, the EU and China had arrived at an agreement in the month of June to settle all tarde disputes and as a part of that agreement Chinese exports to the EU in 10 categories will be restricted by 2008.
