Recently, the Chinese Government decided to reduce or cancel the inspection and quarantine fee imposed on raw silk and other agriculture products meant for exports from the period during October 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008. This decision was taken in order to support and increase export of agriculture products, promote its development and raise the income of Chinese peasants.
These export products include the animal and plant products like raw leather, flax, hemp, fur, raw and waste silk, wool, animal hair, and raw and waste cotton. In total, over 1800 categories come under this group.
According to the statistics, the ports of Shenzhen city exports more than one million products of these categories each year. After the implementation of this new policy, the Government is expected to lose over 40 million yuan of the inspection and quarantine fee annually. However, it will obviously increase the income of Chinese peasants.
