Datatex, the world's leading ERP solution provider to the textile and apparel industry, based on latest available web technology and installed at over 400 customers in 5 continents and more than 40 countries, and the Goldratt Group, consulting firm, have joined hands to offer a unique holistic solution covering all aspects of the textile supply chain, from yarn and fabric manufacturing, to assortment and merchandise management in the retail stores.

The solution is created by integrating NOW, ERP solution for the garment industry, brands, and private label, from fibre or yarn, and Symphony Software. Symphony is a retail ecosystem, based on the well-known Theory of Constraints (TOC). Symphony handles all major aspects of stock and merchandise management, from stock levels, to assortment planning and product life cycle, all synchronised together to a flexible operation, reacting in real time to the actual needs of the store, according to a press release.

Symphony presents a different approach to stock management by replacing the ever inaccurate forecast, in a dynamic system that consciously challenge all targets of all SKUs and all categories on a daily basis, reacting to real time changes in consumption patterns.

Symphony has a proven record of reducing the stock level by 20 per cent to 30 per cent, while increasing availability and sales by 15 per cent to 20 per cent, showing positive ROI in a very short time. (GK)
