Michael Kors selects Aptos ONE retail platform

Aptos, a recognised market leader in retail technology solutions, has announced that Michael Kors has selected to pilot Aptos ONE, the industry’s leading cloud-native, microservices-based retail platform. Michael Kors is a world-renowned, award-winning designer of luxury accessories and ready-to-wear, operating in the most prestigious cities in the world.

With Aptos ONE, Michael Kors will benefit from breakthrough technology that allows customer transactions to be processed anywhere on locally resilient mobile devices – without the need for costly store servers. The platform provides a performant environment when connectivity is suboptimal or even non-existent with native local business logic and automated data synchronisation, Aptos said in a press release.

“While the initial pilot deployment is focused on making the sale anytime and anywhere with a mobile device, ultimately we will be looking at how the Aptos ONE platform can create a foundation to innovate faster, unify, and streamline core commerce and customer enablement capabilities, and differentiate the Michael Kors shopping experience in a way that is unique to our brand,” Dave Kardesh, CIO at Michael Kors said.

According to Noel Goggin, Aptos CEO and culture leader, the introduction of Aptos ONE reflects that in today’s retail environment, the retailers that will succeed are those that can innovate at the pace of consumers’ shopping and social patterns.
