Sport Obermeyer adopts NGC Global Enterprise Suite

NGC Software announced that Sport Obermeyer, a 65 year-old, world-renowned Aspen, Colorado-based skiwear company that produces technical, fashionable, earth-friendly outerwear, apparel and accessories, has selected NGC’s Global Enterprise Suite for an all-in-one solution that improves workflow, productivity and speed-to-market.

Sport Obermeyer Founder Klaus Obermeyer’s lively spirit and desire to live a well-balanced life is what inspires the company every day. Sport Obermeyer’s decision to implement NGC's integrated suite of fashion PLM, ERP and apparel supply chain management software is integral to the company’s mission to innovate its business and continue its positive growth.

The company believes that GES will provide the right strategic systems to manage further growth. “We feel we can double or quadruple the size of our company with the same manpower with NGC’s GES, because it will allow us to get more productivity out of our current employees. This alone will give us a boost in profit and revenue,” said Greg Bannister, Technology Director, and Sport Obermeyer.

In addition, the company expects NGC’s software to deliver many additional benefits, from fast time-to-market to streamlined collaboration with its production facilities.

Streamlined factory collaboration

One of the most anticipated benefits of NGC’s Global Enterprise Suite for Sport Obermeyer is more efficient collaboration with its factories. “NGC’s GES will allow us to communicate with factories instantly. For example, if we need to drop a style in the middle of production, our factories will know right away, which will save us considerable cost,” said Bannister.

Faster time-to-market and improved workflow,

With integrated systems, every employee’s job will flow together much more efficiently. “We expect to save five weeks by eliminating the need for a dozen people to enter the same data repeatedly,” said Bannister.

Bannister adds “If we complete the production of a ski jacket design five weeks earlier, we’ll get the jackets to factories that much earlier and we will have earlier shipments, which leads to better customer service.” Sport Obermeyer can then get its merchandise into the stores earlier, increasing the potential for re-orders and ultimately leading to better sell-through.

Enhanced reporting capabilities

NGC's software will enable Sport Obermeyer to run highly detailed reports that give the company fast access to information and significant insight into business performance. “We’ll be able to better understand inventory levels, product information, materials status, and many other aspects of our operations,” said Bannister.
