Starmount announced that Perry Ellis International completed the initial rollout of Starmount’s mobile selling and customer engagement solutions in time for the busy 2013 holiday shopping season, with impressive adoption rates and an increase in the average transaction amounts for sales conducted with mobile devices.

“Starmount is delighted that Perry Ellis is receiving such strong return on investment from our solutions, and we look forward to helping them continue to deploy new functionality”

Perry Ellis completed the deployment of Starmount Engage and Starmount Connect to approximately 60 stores with an initial focus on line busting, engaging customers throughout the store, and completing transactions on mobile devices. The retailer measured significant benefits during the holiday shopping season, including:

High user adoption during peak shopping times. The top Perry Ellis stores conducted up to 16.4% of all transactions on mobile devices, enabling sales associates to deliver the high level of customer service for which Perry Ellis is renowned.

Larger transaction sizes. Perry Ellis significantly increased transaction sizes with mobile devices during the holiday season. “Over the 2013 holiday season, our stores experienced an average transaction amount that was 14% higher when using Starmount Engage, compared to traditional POS registers,” said Luis Paez, CIO of Perry Ellis International.

Perry Ellis is currently adding more Starmount capabilities to its mobile selling solutions, including the ability for sales associates to access detailed product information. Starmount will also be providing loyalty integration that will allow associates to retrieve customer profiles on their mobile devices, enroll new customers in the loyalty program and update customer contact information.

“We view mobile as a key component of the Perry Ellis in-store experience, and it increases our ability to deliver personalized, exceptional customer service that is synonymous with the Perry Ellis brand. The feedback from sales associates and customers alike has been very positive,” added Paez.

“Starmount is delighted that Perry Ellis is receiving such strong return on investment from our solutions, and we look forward to helping them continue to deploy new functionality,” said Marty Whitmore, Vice President, Professional Services, Starmount.

Starmount software solutions bring the richness of the Web and the power of mobile into the store, where retailers can create more personalized, relevant and dynamic interactions with customers. From mobile selling and cross-channel engagement platforms to digital signage, our retail solutions transform the store environment into a more connected, engaging shopping experience.
