The average height of Chinese male body has increased 2.57 cm over recent 20 year, of which 68.3 percent are partial to overweight, representing Chinese men are the group growing fast with fat, according to the series figures in the study of 'Chinese male body database' released by Hengyuan group and Donghua University.
It is learned that Hengyuan Group and Donghua University took 4 years to collect relevant data from eastern, northern and central areas in China, aiming to acquire a clearer picture of male body figures distributing in different areas.
According to the survey, the height of Chinese male living in central area has obviously increased than before because of continuous increment of nourishment absorbing with economic boom.
In three segments of 20-30 years old, 30-40 years old and 40-50 years old, the heights have increased by 3.3 cm, 2.8 cm and 1.6 cm respectively, average at 2.57 cm.
Meanwhile 68.3 percent of Chinese male in central area are overweight, the average difference between chest measurement and waistline is 9.6, higher than the nation's average of 9.54.
As requested by the anthropology, scientific human body diagraph should be made once ever ten years. China did its last human body figures survey in 1987, targeting to build up the national standard information database for clothing industry.
