Edgenet's Product Registry enhances apparel data management

Edgenet, Inc., a leading provider of selling, advertising and data solutions announced new features in the Product Registry Supplier Portal that now allows for support of attribute variations to easily manage the product variations for apparel, like style, color and size to name a few.

Edgenet provides suppliers across multiple industries a market leading product data management and synchronization solution. Edgenet's Product Registry data platform provides thousands of suppliers with Software as a Service (SaaS) for collection, management and distribution of rich product data and product marketing information. Using the Supplier Portal, suppliers can easily gather, manage and share product information and all accompanying digital assets with their trading partners. With today's enhancements, the time, effort and resources required for managing frequently changing apparel product data is drastically reduced.

“At Edgenet, we are continually learning from customers and prospects. This client inspired addition to the Supplier Portal provides great value to our Sporting Goods and Apparel suppliers and simplifies their product management process,” said John Sullivan, Vice President at Edgenet. “Take for instance; it is common for vendors to offer multiple colors of the same style and product. So why in the world wouldn't you provide and easier way for them to manage just that change without re-keying everything for each color? Sullivan went on to say, “Sometimes the best ideas are the ones right in front of you. In addition to adding value for Edgenet suppliers, the product attribute variations give retailers a more robust selection since they can now view each individual variation of a specific product through the Merchant Portal.”

With this attribute variation capability, suppliers can enter the primary product information once, and simply add the variations, such as Medium, Large, and XL. Edgenet takes it a step further by providing a feature to map item colors to NRF industry standards. The National Retail Federation (NRF) provides a database of color and size codes that gives retailers, vendors and manufacturers a common language for product color and size identification. This is helpful for standardizing attributes in ecommerce website searches, ultimately resulting in richer customer experiences and supporting online sales. Edgenet's solution provides the best of both worlds - a custom size or color and integrated mapping to NRF industry standards.
