Vans introduces the complete mobile guide to Vans gear with the House of Vans app available for free immediate download for iPhone and iPad at the iTunes store or by visiting website.
Perhaps the most advanced brand shopping app to date, House of Vans is a resource allowing consumers to research their favorite Vans products, share information and comments with friends and then find the nearest Vans dealer stocking that particular product through "augmented reality" technology that depicts retailers on-screen when viewing through camera mode on the iPhone and iPad. House of Vans is to be updated seasonally with new product images, profiles and news.
"The House of Vans app not only informs consumers about Vans shoes and apparel in detail, but it also searches out the closest Vans retailer carrying that particular product in real-time," said Doug Palladini, Vans' Vice President of Marketing. "The launch of the House of Vans app and the development of our swelling online communities, including vans.com which just surpassed one million unique visitors in a month in July for the first time, demonstrate Vans' commitment to interacting with consumers through emerging technology."
The House of Vans app is the fifth in a growing collection of Vans mobile apps. Vans released the Vans Hub, aggregating Vans blogs and social media, earlier in 2010, Vans Sk8: Pool Service, a 3D skate game featuring Vans skaters early last year and followed that up with the Vans Warped Tour Official App allowing fans to keep up-to-date with the latest Tour happenings. In late 2009, Vans introduced the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing App, making the first live mobile webcast application for any action sports event available to surf enthusiasts.
Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel company, is a brand of VF Corporation. Vans collections include authentic footwear, apparel and accessories, snowboard boots and the Pro-tec line of protective gear and are sold in the United States through more than 250 company owned stores as well as independent retailers. Internationally, Vans sells its goods in approximately 70 countries through a network of subsidiaries, distributors and foreign offices.
