Venda to power SimplyBe ecommerce site

Venda, the world's largest on-demand ecommerce platform, has been selected by JD Williams and Company (part of N Brown Group Plc), the UK's largest independent multi-channel home shopping retailer, to power its international offering for SimplyBe, one of its plus sized fashion brands.

SimplyBe has used the Venda Enterprise solution to expand into the US market, after the successful launch of its German site. Since its launch in March 2009, SimplyBe.de has experienced phenomenal growth of over 50 per cent year-on-year using Venda's service and technology.

The site uses many of the latest Venda capabilities, available through the free up-grades available to all Venda clients, to bring the best online shopping experience to its customers. Making use of Venda's eCommerce eCosystem, the new US online store will enable shoppers to make informed purchases with easy-to-navigate pages, zoom and colour swatch features, and simple, fast and secure checkout procedures.

Paul Kendrick, Group Development Director at JD Williams Group, commented: “Venda made the process of expanding into the US relatively straightforward. It was able to deliver the solution on time and to specification in the German market, and its unique SaaS model enabled us to easily replicate many of the successes of Simplybe.de to suit the US market. Expanding into a new and highly competitive market can be challenging, however Venda's expert approach and localised knowledge of the complex operations in the US, including tax, delivery and payment systems allowed for a smooth transition over the five-months implementation period in the US market.”

Eric Abensur, Group CEO of Venda, added: “In today's economic climate, to be undergoing such fast-paced expansion is a real sign of success. As companies move their online offering into new markets they need to be aware of the local retail processes and laws to ensure they offer a high-quality and secure customer service. JD Williams is a good example of a retailer making the most of the benefits online commerce offers and the flexibility and scalability of the Venda platform. We're pleased to be able to add value through the Venda community of interest by sharing some of the knowledge and expertise we have gained by operating in these markets over the last 10 years.”

Simply Be is one of JD Williams most successful and distinctive brands. The brand has been established for over 10 years and the primary audience is confident fashion buyers who want trend inspired shopping. It serves the 30 – 50 year old, mid market customer with an average dress size of 20. Currently, 71-75% of demand is placed via the internet.

February 2009 saw the launch of Simply Be in Germany with a successful start, with 2010 seeing the brand launch to the USA market.

Venda's highly flexible on-Demand eCommerce platform shatters the economics, risks, and complexity traditionally associated with deploying world-class eCommerce sites.
