Fifth Gear enters North American ecommerce market

Fifth Gear, an order fulfillment and ecommerce services provider for retailers, announced the North American ecommerce launch of its newest client, Olsen Europe. Fifth Gear was selected by the international women's fashion brand to fulfill Canadian and U.S. orders placed through OlsenEurope.com from its distribution facility in Missouri. This central U.S. location was essential for Olsen Europe's strategy to ensure the best possible delivery times to customers across North America.

“Fifth Gear is exactly the partner we need for this major ecommerce expansion,” says Chery Halim, ecommerce manager for Olsen Europe's North American operations. “We chose Fifth Gear not only for the benefits of efficiency when shipping across the continent, but also because of their proven expertise for internet retail. They have provided us with valuable ecommerce insight and best practices for the North American market. They studied our competition, partnered with us on our marketing launch, and negotiated the best shipping options.”

Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, Olsen Europe operates 91 retail outlets in over 50 countries worldwide, including 58 stores in Canada. While the company has launched online shopping sites in 11 countries over the past year, this launch represents its first entry into the U.S. women's fashion market.

The Fifth Gear order fulfillment facility has served nearly 100 retail brands with its nearly half-million square feet of warehouse space. According to Fifth Gear's Warehouse Director Tami Sayers, space has already been allocated to accommodate Olsen Europe's anticipated growth. Through Fifth Gear's partnership with FedEx, Olsen Europe's shipments that cross the U.S. and Canadian border are pre-cleared so that Canadian customers will not pay import or custom duties and will receive their orders with expedited service.

Fifth Gear is also providing Olsen Europe with consultation and service for technology integration and internet marketing strategy.
