British Retail Consortium (BRC) informs that Queue-busting technology and electronic shelf-edge labelling were just two of the solutions that were explored at the BRC's 'In-Store Innovation' conference, sponsored by Microsoft.
Today's retailers face ever-more demanding customers, who are looking for efficiency of service, choice and availability of stock. Businesses are under increased pressure to differentiate themselves from competitors.
The half-day event, held on 2 March, looked at how integrating innovative solutions - including new technology – into a business can help retailers improve customer experience and give retailers the edge over competitors.
Delegates heard about the importance of customer focus, the role of mobile technology, how to optimise customer spending power, the value of digital signage and future trends in retail innovation.
BRC mission is to improve the general perception of the retail industry in the UK.
