FDDI inaugurates Information Technology Services Center

Mr. M. Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) is giving his utmost time to make FDDI as a role model for technological & infrastructural development for the leather, footwear, retail & allied industries.

Mr. Ahmed visited the Institute on September 17, 2010 where he inaugurated the Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) & interacted with all the students who joined FDDI in session 2010.

“FDDI should focus on adopting new technologies of the footwear & allied sector in its course modules to maintain its position in the league of the eminent institutions in the world.”-Mr. M. Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman, FDDI.

Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI & Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI, Mr. Deepak Kumar, IRS, Executive Director, faculties, staff members & students of FDDI, welcomed him for sparing his valuable time.

The Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) has been designed to provide users with a common environment across the site / campus of its presence involving minimal or no changes. The implementation would address integration of many popular application systems to achieve the vision of making a most modern institution that would constitute of Data Center, Hi-Tech IT Lab, Wireless Internet and other requisite IT services & facilities such as student specific Campus Solution etc.

“The ITSC has been setup on framework of institutional e-strategies and in accordance with organizational development policies and with specific targets.”-Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI.

During his three hour stay, he visited the testing laboratory, classrooms, computer center and canteen etc., and appreciated the efforts made for the expansion of FDDI in terms of infrastructure & services.

In his welcome address, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI said, “The ITSC has been setup on framework of institutional e-strategies and in accordance with organizational development policies and with specific targets. These targets are envisaged to serve as useful benchmarks for actions and for the evaluation of the progress made towards the attainment of the overall objectives of the ITSC.”

He further said that “The ITSC would offer integration of technology & resource, support the learning, teaching and provide research for students, faculty and staff with access to a wide variety of research tools and materials, and academic support services through the seamless integration of technologies.”

FDDI witnessed yet another year of outstanding growth and established new benchmarks in various areas of its operation such as training, testing, designing, consultancy etc. during the year 2009-10.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Ahmed said, “FDDI should focus on adopting new technologies of the footwear & allied sector in its course modules to maintain its position in the league of the eminent institutions in the world.”
