Evans announces Plus Size Model Search finalists

The exciting hunt for the UK's next plus size supermodel has come to an end and Evans, Style 369 and Models 1 are delighted to announce five deserving finalists. These five gorgeous plus size women beat off competition from more than 1,000 entrants.
Jessica Anderson from London, Katy Syme from Milton Keynes, Philomena Kwao from Dartford, Kate Eccles from Birmingham and Amarilys Hibon from London impressed the judges from Evans, Style 369 and Models 1. The competition was a collaboration between all three brands and the judging panel included important people from all three companies.
The overall winner will receive a prize package consisting of:
• A photo shoot as the new face of Style369 or feature in Evans' Spring 2012 campaign
• £1,000 shopping spree at Evans or Style369
• Model consultation with Excel Models1
• Tickets to an exclusive Excel Models1 event
The ladies have already shown they stand out from the crowds as the selection process for the search started with scouting sessions at Evans stores around the UK. From Glasgow and Sheffield to Exeter and Southampton, scouts from Models 1 trawled the UK to find prospective candidates.
Further applicants came from people who submitted their entries online. All were put into an online photo gallery so visitors to the Evans blog and Style 369 website could see the entrants and be inspired to be proud of their curves and join in too.
Once applications closed in late November, a shortlist of 31 was announced. This list was shortened to seven and then to five. All the girls that are through to this final stage have impressed the panel with a unique aspect of their look. They are still up in the photo gallery at style369modelsearch clearly showing their suitability to be the UK's next top plus size model.
After this successful talent search, Evans is likely to hold more events around the UK to engage it's customers. Earlier this year the award-winning plus size ladies clothing retailer teamed up with Plus Size Tall on a different modeling competition, where the winner was featured in Evans Winter 2011 catalogue.
The brand also remains committed to educating women about their body shapes. From explaining to a lady if she is a pear, apple, busty or hourglass shape to suggesting clothes to fit, Evans plans to inform shoppers in-store, online, on Facebook and Twitter and through magazine articles.
