"The court case is simply an opportunity for woolgrowers to assert their legal rights to stop PETA attempting to choke their markets by intimidating retailers. To ask the applicants to end the legal case and abandon their legal rights at a time when PETA has vowed to escalate the boycott campaign is flawed logic.
"Putting co-applicants under duress for exercising their legal rights is un-Australian behaviour and will be rejected by all fair-minded growers.
"AWI is part of the Australian Wool and Sheep Industry Taskforce which is made up of the ten peak industry bodies and the Federal Government. The Taskforce was formed to ensure woolgrowers' futures are protected against attack by PETA and other extreme animal rights groups."
