Major retailers support PETA/AWGA agreement

PETA suspects that AWI executives' financial interests in merino stud breeding may explain why the group has been dragging its feet for 20 years on phasing out mulesing mutilations – as it may have no personal financial interests in the bare-breech breeding market.

"Consumers and retailers have spoken, and we can see that the wool industry is listening", says PETA Campaign Coordinator Matt Rice. "AWI and others have a duty to their constituents to move with the times, stop digging in their heels against inevitable change and commit to humane reforms."
