Fashion couture is heading to the Rio Grande Valley, thanks to Diana Stowers a local designer, who recently opened a store at 3421 N. Shary Road in northwest Mission to sell her unique brand of vintage clothing and furniture.
The store with its artistic and aesthetic interior is more than a retail boutique and sells women's clothing, as well as refinished antique furniture, artwork, jewelry and fashion accessories.
Stowers has been designing a whole wardrobe of funky and hip fashions and displaying them both online and at her store in Mission where her acrylic paintings are also on sale.
Her popular items include Cybelle-feme tank tops, Sachet Cashet belts, Vintage Vagabond Couture T-shirts, Agelica halter tops etc.
Her inspiration is people, whom she meets during the shows and then she studies further.
Unlike the mass-manufactured items found at many retailers, every creation of Stowers is handmade in the United States and meticulously examined to ensure its high quality. Not surprisingly, her clothes are pricier - her tank tops start from $48 while her jackets cost well over the $200 mark.
